2025 4BBB Handicap Match Play Championship

The 2025 4BBB Handicap Match Play Championship will be conducted over five rounds, commencing with the first
round on Saturday 12 July 2025. It is the preference for scheduling and club atmosphere that all teams are available
for the first round on Saturday 13 2024. However, players and teams who are unable to play the first round on this
date may agree with their opponents to play their match up until Monday 21 July 2025. All first round matches much
be completed by this date and the below dates for following rounds will not be extended.
Subsequent rounds must be completed by the following dates:
Round 2 – Monday 28 July
Round 3 – Monday 11 August
Round 4 – Monday 25 August
Final – Monday 8 September
Teams of two players may consist of male/male, female/female or male/female. Any member may lodge an entry
form. The field is capped at 32 teams, and entries will close once this limit is reached. The Championship will be
played under a knockout format. Once a team loses a match it is eliminated from the Championship.
The Match Committee will complete the draw for the first round and this will be posted on the website and drawn
up on the board in the spike bar. First round tee times will be reserved by the Committee from the 1 st tee between
7.15am and 9.15am on Saturday 12 July. These will be available for viewing when the timesheet is released on
Saturday 5 July. Players are responsible for arranging tee times and bookings for subsequent rounds, including those
not playing round 1 on 12 July. Players may book matches themselves when timesheets open or may request the
Golf Manager or any other Committee member to book them in prior to the timesheet’s normal opening time.
If any team is unable to play rounds on or by the scheduled dates, the Match Committee must be notified
immediately. The Match Committee may agree to a match being played after the required date in exceptional
circumstances only, and where it does not impact on future rounds to be played. A request must be made to the
match committee at least 7 days prior to the due date of the round. If a match cannot be played by one of the dates
above due to one team being unavailable, it will be the team who is unavailable and who cannot meet the
timeframe that will be required to forfeit the match (NB: 1 player can represent a 4BBB team).
Men will play from blue tees and women from red tees. If a round is played on a day when blue or red tees are not
in place, players commence from the blue and red plates. Matches will use the daily handicaps (not GA handicaps)
applying at the date of each match. Matchplay events are played using the Men’s and Women’s Match Index on the
scorecard.
Each round will be played as handicap match play where the player in the group of four with the lowest daily
handicap will play off scratch (0) and other players will play off a handicap equivalent to the difference between
their handicap and the lowest handicapper. See the example overleaf.
Enquiries or disputes should be raised with a member of the Match Committee as soon as possible. Any decisions
made by the Match Committee are final.
